*OooOooo* such pretty colours on my knee!! I am in pain. I slipped and fell yesterday, right smack in the city centre on Swanston Street. And it wasn't the most elegant fall! It went something more like *AIEeeEEEe*...*THUD* Well, that sure shut EVERYONE up! OK, so I am HUGELY embarassed, but my excuse was that I was avoiding a guy on a wheelchair. Perhaps I could sue the city council for providing unsafe, slippery footpaths! I have lost all touch of grace and panache.

The doctor says I have golfers elbow. It causes much pain when I move my left arm. My knee hurts, my back aches and I have a bruise somewhere on my thigh. Such is life.

I finally had myself a pub meal last night at The Bush Inn, South Yarra. Nice big chunk of steak with mushroom sauce for a crazy $12.95. *yumyum* A couple of rounds of pool and then it was off to see the Bass Agents @ Telstra Dome.

The night started to look really bad when I got there and saw the queue of a gazillion people all waiting to get in. I ended up having to wait for a whole HOUR (in the VIP/free list line mind you!!) before I got my ass out of the freezing cold. That aside, the crowd was great. The BA boys were great as usual, although at one point, they took me by surprise when they started spinning some RnB! Their act got interrupted for an hour by some R&B DJ, but when they resumed, the crowd went wild! Not a bad night afterall. Managed to score myself a free CD as well! Woots! Thanks David!

Is ignorance really bliss?

24.6.04

I'm not big on random chatting on ICQ. I get the occassional random messages from strangers, who for some strange reason are usually from Middle Eastern countries, or China or India. So anyhoo, I got bored and replied a message last night.

Chillboy: Hi
|LoLa|: Hello who's this?
Chillboy: Sean/17/m/PJ/Chinese
|LoLa|: hey hey seanny boy
Chillboy: What's your name? From where?
|LoLa|: mel, 22, melbourne
Chillboy: now?
|LoLa|: huh???
Chillboy: Where are you now?
|LoLa|: in melbourne?
Chillboy: Is that in Malaysia?
|LoLa|: ermn.. no? Melbourne is in Australia
Chillboy: Do you interested in sex?

Now, THIS is exactly why I hate random chatting on ICQ. Granted, that on rare occassions, we actually do come across someone with SOME form of intelligence. But more often than not, I'm lucky to even get past an introduction. There is no excuse for a 17 y.o to not have the slightest clue where Melbourne is. Get out from under that shell you live in! And how he could even think that I would be interested in sex with him is completely beyond me...

Happy Birthday Chew!!!

Thanks for dinner and all tonight! I owe you one! Hope you enjoyed the rest of the night with the boys, wherever you all decided to go! May the coming year bring you all that you wish for and more...

Floppy is gorgeous! A little on the horny side, but so adorable otherwise. I have rid myself of the urge to roast this little humper. Very tempted to get a rabbit myself (yes, that's a rabbit, not a cow or a tissue box holder, in case any of you were wondering!).

And it's back to reality...

21.6.04

I realise that this update is long overdue. Blame it on a lack of motivation, and lack of sleep. So, in no particular order, here are some of the highlights of my recent trip back to KL...

Lynn & Mel @ TSB

Lynnzter's birthday at TSB was mad. I left before everyone started going mental on the booze but I walked past an hour later and I could hear them going wild up on the balcony. Great to finally meet you babes, and I hope you had a blast! And make sure Cheng Leong passes you your present!! More photos here...

Clockwise from left: Wei Chen, Sow, Ivan & Mel @ Genki Sushi, 1U

An impromptu lunch @ Genki Sushi, 1U with Ben, Sow, Ivan and Wei Chen on my first day back was quite amusing. This is apparently a weekly thing that these boys do, and I can see why, as they had alot of interesting nonsense to keep them going for hours and hours.

Aaron, Mel, Dong Jiann & Kin Mun @ Spicy Kitchen, Hartamas

It was great being able to catch up with some of my old high school friends. I blame horrible timing, and distance for the lack of communication with most of my old friends. But it's funny how everyone still appears the same. Perhaps a little more grown up, but old friends will always be people you can relate to no matter what. More photos here and here.

Clockwise from left: Eugene, Kwee Heng, Mel, Michael, Erik & Josh @ Kampachi, Hotel Equatorial

Round 2 at Kampachi was made worthwhile. I think I probably scared the boys by the amount of food that I managed to gobble down. The mochi was once again, superb. 3 bowls of that delicious, uber yummy dessert was barely enough for me!! More photos here...

Gatecrasher 10 years with a Vengeance @ Sepang, F1 Circuit

Mel, Melvyn & Michael

Finally, the long awaited Gatecrasher event. Despite many comments on how fantastic the rave was, I didn't quite enjoy myself for a couple of reasons. Firstly, they were 2 1/2 hours late!! And I for one, have no tolerance for tardiness. Secondly, the first DJ just absolutely killed it for me with the really bad music. Thirdly, I wasn't feeling too great. And fourthly, I knew that I had to leave the next day and we all know how much I absolutely hate flying. Nonetheless, I have to admit that once Matt Hardwick came on, everyone's spirits lifted a little.
More photos here...

All in all, a pretty good trip (except for the weather). A great big thank you to Ben, Erik, Sophia, Yen, Kwee Heng, Mike, Meng Jinn for making the trip down to the outerspace we call Shah Alam to see me. Ben & Yen especially for making it even after getting lost!! I love you guys!!

Last but not least, great big thanks to Yu Ann for the lift from the airport last night. *muax*

It's good to be back

14.6.04

A very productive Sunday. Met up with more people than I had hoped for. A week of holidays is way too short. Had some good nasi lemak, and some interesting sago dessert thingamagic. Not to mention a whole packet of heavenly Famous Amos! *licks lips* Unfortunately, food doesn't seem to sit too well with me at the moment!

I have no motivation to blog these days. Life seems to be pretty stagnant at the moment. No exciting social events, no good work stories, zilch, nil, nothing. I don't even remember the reason I started blogging in the first place. I think it was to kill boredom at work. Well, that has now been taken care of with the shitloads of work piled on me. I guess, it's a much easier way to make little notes of any events, as opposed to actually writing them down in a handwritten diary. I hate writing. I've got ugly writing. It's squiggly, inconsistent, and it doesn't sit properly on the lines. And without the lines, they just go up and down, and all over the page... OK , this is exactly what I mean when I say I have nothing exciting to blog about. Who the fuck cares about my handwriting?!?!

Time for a shower...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANN!

To one of my oldest friends, Happy 22nd Birthday you baby! Sorry couldn't have dinner with you tonight - all thanks to my exam tomorrow!! Doesn't it suck to always have your birthday during exam period!! *haha* But another year and you'll be all done! Awesome! Keep smiling and being the joker that you are! We'll have to go to Laksa King again one of these days in your groovy shagmobile!

Sanan & Mel @ Pacific House

It's always a little sad when someone has to leave. It's been a real pleasure getting to know you, Sanan! Thanks for all the good times and laughs. And here's to wishing you a safe journey home. Come back for a visit soon, and don't forget to send us some scallops and abalone!!

Waiting for a table for 15 minutes sure had the effect of whetting our appetite. A rather squishy table made it all a little more cosy. Food was fantastic, especially when I haven't had a decent meal in awhile.

Joyce, Mel & Sui Lin @ Pacific House

Mel, Sui Lin & Gavin @ Pacific House

Headed down to Angelucci's on Chapel St after dinner. We were probably the only people who weren't part of a 21st birthday bash there. Nonetheless, it was all good fun, with some mad dancing by a hot chick! (who managed to turn on the wrong kind of people! haha) *woots* Not to mention the free fingerfood that kept coming around!

Joyce, Yu Ann, Sui Lin & Mel @ Angeluccis

Sui Lin, Mel, Ben & Sanan @ Angeluccis

The night ended with a quick (that turned out to be pretty long) cuppa at Graeco @ Crown. A word of advice: Never try to have Chinese tea + Red Bull + English Breakfast tea ALL in one night, if you intend on sleeping!!

*sigh* Looks like it's back to the books now...

3.6.04

Have you ever tried analysing a person and ended up getting it all COMPLETELY wrong? Someone said to me today that the reason why I find a life of danger and crime so fascinating and intriguing is because my life is so perfect, that I have to derive my excitement from other people's "imperfections". I actually found it quite amusing that they would go so far as to say that my life is perfect. If only... Perfection does not exist in any shape, form or matter. And especially when it comes to us humans. Rather, it is a guise for our shortcomings.

At night I pray
That soon your face
Will fade away

I just got off the phone and it is amazing how emotions can fluctuate so greatly in such a short span of time. Hate Anger - Joy - Comfort - Hate Anger. That's pretty much the order of how it went in a span of 15 minutes.

2.6.04

9 more days and counting... Yes, it is that horrible time again. Exams are looming, work is piling up, time is running out. My mind is too tired. Too tired to think. Too tired to blog. But yet, here I am... I don't know how many more years of this work & study routine I can hack. It's times like these that I feel like quitting. Quit when the going gets tough, so there will be no failures to disappoint with.
