Busy Busy Busy

25.2.05

I have been neglecting this space for awhile now. I haven't even had time to sit down, rest and relax since I came back to Melbourne. Work's been an absolute drag. I dread Sunday - Thursday nights so much. And to anyone who'll listen, I'll be doing my usual "I don't wanna go to work!!" whining.

The pictures from my recent holiday are now happily sitting in a folder in my PC. I will be posting some pics up when I get the chance. But here's something I found recently... Guess who???

Happy Valentine's Day!

14.2.05

I miss you baby. Happy Valentine's Day.

A high school reunion is always fun, as it was yesterday. In some ways, everyone has changed, but in most ways, everyone's still the same. We all look the same as we did back then, the class jesters are still the same ol' clowns, and the studious ones still the brain-iacs. I can't believe it's been 8 years. Time sure flies.

Friendships require effort. Even more so when you're geographically challenged. I was naive to believe that friendship would rise above it all. It takes two to make a friendship work. And after you try and try, you have no choice but to give up. Seems like such a waste doesn't it. But if all you're getting, is less than a minute fraction of what it once was, is there really a point? When a friend feels more like a stranger, is there really a point? I don't expect anything more than a simple phone call, but even that I don't get. Can you really blame me for feeling a little disappointed and let down?

Anyhoo, I hear the mahjong tiles going. Dad's got some friends over to play mahjong, I'm still in my PJs at 12pm, and I have to walk past the living room where all the guests are to get to my room. Hmm.. maybe i should make a dash for it. Green and blue polka dotted PJs aren't exactly the most presentable attire.

Happy Chinese New Year!

13.2.05

Chinese New Year has been fairly typical this time around. The usual open houses, the same food, the same people, and the usual gambling sessions. However, I haven't really been into the whole gambling scene this year. More into the food!! *tee hee* oink*

Taiping (my mum's hometown) was rather dull. But, I got to see my dear granny. And eat yummy wan ton mee and those famous 323 biscuits. The drive back was a killer however. Everyone's rushing back to KL for work on Monday and the roads were jam packed! 3 hours from Ipoh back to KL. Madness I tell you!!!

Anyhoo, I got my chance to visit the infamous Luna Bar at the Pan Global hotel last night. It's really zen. The ambience is amazing with the pool at the heart of the bar. The view from the 33rd floor is spectacular. On one side, we've got the view of the Petronas Twin Towers, and on the other, the brighly lit KL Towers. The downside: you've got to pay to enjoy the view. Cover charge is 50 bucks after 10, which seems ridiculous for a bar. So, the trick to Luna Bar is, to be there before 10!

We headed off to the Loft after Luna last night. Very funky monkey place with a not too bad crowd. The music: house. Although, just when we were about to leave, they started playing some of my beloved RnB! Gavin got drunk, as usual. Small Ben got high, as usual. And the rest of us, had fun trying to rape Gavin! The pictures will be up soon. I am without broadband, and without my camera cable, so once I get back to Melbourne, I'll post them up!

In the meantime, I'll enjoy the rest of my holiday and will try to keep this place updated!! Dial up sucks by the way.

Touchdown..And the adventure begins

6.2.05

I'm home. Home sweet home...sorta. Pleasant flight and all. Three whole seats to myself on the plane...*aaah*

First thing I did when I got off the plane was...head to dad's friend's factory's annual dinner. Wow! Technically, I got tricked into it... I didn't really have a choice since I was already sitting in the car and all. But on the upside, I had a taste of mmm mmm yummy satay and char kuay teow! Hung around for an hour while the crowd entertained themselves with games...Coke drinking competitions, banana eating competitions, balloon blowing competitions.. All very amusing.

Got home all tired but managed to drag myself out for a yumcha session with Erik and Alan. And the adventure began there... They dropped me off back home at 1.30am or so... and just as I was about to open my gate, I realised my dog was loose. Now, I'm not normally afraid of dogs. But my dog, he ain't no pansy chi hua hua or furball maltese... he's a big, black, mean looking Rottweiler. And although I call him "my" dog, technically, I don't think he knows who I am. And the last time I tried "playing" with him, he jumped one me and nearly took me down. So, i was scared! And so were the 2 guys... although they were trying hard to calm me down! Tried calling my dad, but well, we don't have a house phone anymore (don't know why?) and his mobile was in the study on the charger, and my dad's a heavy sleeper. So, there I was, at 1.30 in the morning, ringing the doorbell like a crazy woman, and after about 50 rings, someone finally comes out! *phew*

Anyway, I'm jet lagged and my clock's all screwed. Woke up at 7 this morning... and well, I doubt anyone else around's awake... so i'm just gonna sit my ass here until noon and then wake some people up! In the mean time...

Rain, rain go away

3.2.05

Yesterday morning, I woke up to the sound of rain. Last night, I went to bed to the sound of rain. It didn't stop raining the whole day. It was the coldest February day on record, and a month's worth of rain fell in one day. It was crumby. Gusty winds, wet clothes, wet hair. This morning, I woke up to overturned umbrellas, uprooted trees, overnight ponds, flooded train tracks. The worst is over, but expect more rain ahead Melbournians!

On the brighter side of things, my car had a nice clean wash!
