11.11.06When you're feeling low, When you're feeling lost, When you feel you've had it, When all you want is to crawl under the table, And sit in the dark, In the silence, Wishing, hoping that you'd be left alone, There's nothing like a little pick me up.
the Slaughterhouse9.11.06Cute little yellow chicks. They grow up into not so cute chickens.Fluffy white bunnies. One big peacock. Pigeons and ducks that go "eppp eppp". I've never really thought about the horror of killing the chickens and pigeons for their meat. I have a picture in my head of a kampung and chickens running around. But I can't quite picture the actual slaughtering. Is there really a humane way of killing these animals? Break their necks? Slit their throats? Rip off their heads? I don't know. But when you see a dead pigeon flopping around on the ground with blood splattering all over, you start to wonder. And that's just the birds. What about the cows and the pigs and the sheep and all the other animals that we eat? Rather offputting I must say. But alas, what choice do I have for my body has no desire to agree with the greens. |
